FG and PG exam practice

Recent I found a website offering FG and PG exam practices, www.geologier.com. At this moment, it only offers some test samples and detailed interpretation of the questions. Although the functions of reivew and glossary are not available yet, the website declares that they are working on the test questions, and hopefully the full featured exams are available soon. Check it out.

This website aims at providing material to help the user to prepare Fundamentals of Geology (FG) and Practice of Geology (PG) exams of ASBOG required to register as a Professional Geologist. Students or geologists can also use the service.

Knowledge reviews

Key knowledge points in the exam blueprint are summarized by review chapters and sections, and available under Reviewer Package.

Coverage

In the review sections, you will review concepts, examples, some memory tricks, explanation of the technic etc., with illustrations and/or videos to further assist you mastering the skill sets required in the exam.

Review progress

The platform will track where you left in the last review. Whenever you have time and want to continue, you are taken there by a short cut. For any section, if you want to come back to review it again, or again and again, you can mark that section. That chapter will show up in your personal portal, and you can dig deeper whenever you want within your subscription period.

Chapter Check

At the end of each chapter, before you go to the next chapter, there are a set of multiple-choice questions selected from each of the sections in the chapter to test your learning result. All of those questions have detailed analysis for you to review.

Exam Simulation

Two types of exam simulation are provided here, Tester 1 Package (or Type 1) and Tester Package 2 (or Type 2). Type 1 test simulates the FG exam and Type 2 test simulates the PG exam.

Questions

For each of the test, we adopted the same chapter percentage as that in the blueprint of ASBOG. Plus, in order to maximize the coverage, each of the test uses “fresh” questions with less than 5% overall duplication.

Save & Leave

You can Save & Leave the test whenever you want during the test. Next time, when you have time to continue, you can find the shortcut access from your personal portal.

Question Explanation

For each of the question, you will get detailed analysis in the result page after the test is submitted. Plus, if you want to review some questions later, you can mark them in the results page. The marked questions will show up in your personal portal as well. You can look into the details of the marked questions anytime within your subscription period.

However, there is no Save&Leave in the result page after test submission, you have to mark the questions you are interested in all at once. As soon as you close the answer page, you can’t go back to that result page anymore.

Glossaries

Glossaries are picked and compiled as a complimentary package to users subscribed Reviewer and/or Tester 1 or Tester 2 package.

Mark favorites

You can mark special glossaries and review them anytime you want from your personal portal. The access to glossary is open for you forever once you buy one unit of reviewer package or tester package.
